Project Description

Multimodal were commissioned by Phil Jones Associates (PJA) to develop a VISSIM model for undertaking testing of two proposed improvements along Belgrave Road in Leicester. The modelling would be utilised in public consultations and meetings with Leicestershire City Council, to establish their views on the preferred scheme to take forward.

A calibrated and validated VISSIM model was developed of the existing scenario, before the two options were coded in. Results for various network performance parameters were collected for feeding into the Public Consultation material, including delays, journey times, queues and air quality.

The VISSIM models were prepared for high quality consultation videos by inputting VisWALK elements (pedestrian areas, routes and inputs), before being exported into 3D Studio Max for final rendering.
