The PJA modelling team has supported private and public sector clients in delivering residential, retail, commercial and mixed-use schemes using a combination of our core software package, PTV Vissim, traditional modelling tools and our own bespoke efficiency tools.

The specialist skills and experience within the team include network and junction modelling of all shapes and sizes, pedestrian and cyclist modelling, planning and operational modelling of car parks, ports, stadiums, logistics and distribution centres and public transport interchanges.

We are also research and development focussed and aim to deliver cutting edge products and services to our clients during all stages of the project life cycle – ranging from the initial concept design stage, undertaking detailed option modelling/mitigation analysis/operational testing, through to public consultation visualisations.

Visualisation

Making the technical more understandable.

The ability to communicate a proposed scheme and its anticipated impacts visually to decision makers is a key element of our service.

We have experience in graphic design for print and high-quality 2D & 3D modelling and animation, meaning we are able to offer a comprehensive consultation and scheme presentation package for feeding into Public Events and Consultations.

Research & Development

Our aim is to continuously improve.

We are passionate about our role in continuing to contribute to the improvement of our industry as a whole wherever we find the need – whether that is through the ever-present need to develop and improve on current methodologies regarding the use of software and routes to the achieving of national standards of excellence in modelling, or through the research & development needed to create new efficiency tools and processes.

Modelling & Analysis

Our core service.

We have the skills and experience to develop networks of any type and scale, ranging from single junctions to whole town centres and arterial routes. These networks can feature any number of modes of transport, depending on the project specifics. Where required, equally detailed modelling of pedestrian and cyclist activity can be reproduced in a microsimulation environment.

As well as the development of our own models, we also provide a fully independent, external peer review and model auditing service.
